about our club

We hold a concert on the last Sunday of each month. You can attend either to perform a piece of your choosing, or as a member of the audience. There is no obligation to perform, just come and play when you feel ready. The entire concert lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours, with a half hour break for refreshments and socialising.

Once you contact us with your details, you'll receive an email within the first two weeks of each month notifying you of the playing day and inviting you to perform.

If wish to perform that month, email us the piece you’ll be playing. We then draw up a programme for that month's performances. You can opt out at any time up to the Thursday before the concert, but please provide as much notice as possible so we can give your slot to another performer.

Rules of Play

The aim of our group is to become confident performing in public, and to share the joy of music making. So keep in mind that:

  • You an lay any piece that you're comfortable playing. Most of our performers play classical music, but you can also play jazz or pop music.
  • You are requested to keep to a 15 minute time limit, to give others a chance to perform
  • You can lay part of a piece, for example, just one movement of a sonata, or one section of a piece, or just a few bars.
  • You can bring along your friends and family to hear you perform.
  • When sending your requests to perform, please give an estimated timing to help with the scheduling.
  • The deadline for requests to perform is by midnight of the Thursday before the playing day.
  • You'll receive a programme by email at least a day before each concert.
  • If you'd like to change your place in the programme, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Performers can book a slot months in advance. This is to help you work towards a longer term goal. You can arrange to play a full solo recital, by giving notice of at least one month in advance.
